The Quinta is a wondrous, peaceful and centralized location to stay on the island. Everyone who stays with us is
in awe of the nurturing and calming beauty, simplicity, and open and lush space with comfortable and clean facilities. You will immediately fall in love with the freedom to be fully youself and have a personal retreat connected to Nature, away from the hustle and bustle out there. This was always the intention for the Quinta.
We have an outdoor wood-fired cob rocket stove kitchen for campers and bungalow guests to heat water and make light meals with our high-efficient cooktop. We have a 2-burner camping gas stove and individual camping gas burner as well, to attach your 470 plus Camping Gaz or Green bottle. We also have 2 gas burners that people can use for a fee. We cookware, eatingware and silverware for our guests.
Our dining area is covered and cozy with communal cryptomeria tables and a water-friendly dishwashing station, compost pile and recycling containers. We ask that you PLEASE avoid and minimize buying/bringing non-eco-friendly plastic-packaged food and items and stick to bulk fruits & veggies without using plastic bags. We are happy to 
offer you reusable shopping bags and LOTS of plastic bags for your produce. We really live a clean life on the Quinta and respect the Earth and as we offer this experience to you, we ask that you make an effort to live like us while you are here and also when you leave.
We are especially proud of our clean and fresh-smelling compost toilets and wonderful luxurious hot outdoor showers heated by the sun (short 3-5 minute showers please!). We also offer you a huge yoga deck with some mats, a picnic table and some hangout furniture.
We have the best bananas (year-round), granadilhas and guavas for sale (in season) and happy
free-roaming chicken eggs too. In the summer we sell our sun-dried bananas that are an amazing high-energy snack for hiking, surfing, biking and any time. We know you will love it here! Please visit the other menu pages for more information.

Staying with us

We also offer you a 2-burner camping gas stove and a single camping gas burner so you can use your 470 plus or geen bottle of Camping Gaz. For others we have a 2-burner gas cookstove that you can use for an additional fee of 1€/20 minutes. We have cookware, eatingware and silverware for our guests.

Camping
The Quinta is a beautiful, quiet, nature-filled location to camp with your own equipment or renting ours. With space for only four tents, we offer a private and serene camping base from which to visit the island and return each day to a blissful restful place to cook dinner, read, stretch and sit around the fire, meeting others from all over. Some people end up staying on the land all day and enjoying taking walks and bike rides on our bikes to go swimming, visit Lagoa and Ponta Delgada or just read a book in the treehouse or yoga deck all day. This place is about just BEING fo a while, and returning to yourself.
Cob Bungalows
For a special experience we have 3 handmade cob (earthen) bungalows that we rent out.
Each one is unique, beautiful and cozy with its own magic and personal details. They all come with a queen bed with bedding, a desk/table and stool or bench, electrical outlets, lights, night tables and shelves and hooks for your personal items. The Sunset bungalow has a wood-fired rocket heater and the Merkaba bungalow has a woodstove, for the wintertime. Sunrise bungalow has excellent passive solar heating due to its full day full sun exposure, ideal for solar thermal absorption during the daytime hours and heat release in the evening and night hours. They all 3 have a sink on the outside of the building and outdoor seating. Please contact Claudine for staying with us.
Sunrise Bungalow
The 10m2 Sunrise bungalow’s door faces the sunrise and is located near the entrance to the Quinta as well as near the 3 solar showers and sauna.
Sunset Bungalow
The 15m2 oval-shaped Sunset bungalow offers a rain-protected overhang to sit under and enjoy the morning or afternoon hours in rain or shine while reading, eating or just staring out at the lush green gardens and trees.
Merkaba Bungalow
Merkaba is a round 15m2 bungalow partially nestled into the acacia forest and built into the existing stonescape. It is the most private and secluded of all three.

Sunrise Bungalow
Sunrise bungalow is 10m2 and faces the sunrise while its cob walls absorb sun heat all day long for a cozy warm inside temperature in the evening.
Sunset Bungalow
Sunset bungalow is 15m2 and has a sweet overhang in the front for sitting under on our homemade bench, while gazing out at the green lush Azorean landscape rain or shine.
